Export Stats4U reports as CSV or JSON with the correct access and period

The CSV and JSON links on a statistics page download a report for further work. Start from an accessible statistics page, select the intended period and use its current download link. An export does not bypass private statistics or password protection, and a downloaded file needs appropriate handling too.
- Open the statistics with the required access
- Choose dates and the file format
- Verify the file and store it safely
Download through the statistics page
- Open the intended counter statistics. Public statistics can be read publicly; private statistics require authorised owner or reading access, and password protection still applies. A public counter number alone does not unlock protected data.
- Choose the reporting period on the page before selecting CSV or JSON. Use the newly generated link for that selection. An old bookmark or a hand-edited download address can fail because the download link has a time-limited verification value.
- If a link has expired, reopen the statistics page with the required access, select the dates again and use its current export link. Changing the format or dates inside a copied URL is not equivalent to creating a fresh valid link.
Choose the format for the task
CSV contains daily rows with the field names date, hits, unique and bots. The unique field is the daily visitor figure. In a spreadsheet, use the import dialog if needed and check the delimiter, date interpretation and numeric columns before calculating anything.
JSON contains daily values, reporting dates, totals and supported grouped breakdowns such as countries, browsers and pages. Some grouped lists are limited in size. It is not a full database backup or an export of every optional dashboard feature.
Check the metric and the available history
Check the counter number and the from and to dates in the file where provided. A reporting period does not guarantee that every table has measurements for every day. Empty breakdowns can reflect unavailable data, different collection dates or an unreported detail rather than proof of no visitors.
The all total is the counter total; hits and unique summarise daily records for the selected period. Adding daily unique figures gives a sum of daily visitors, not distinct people across the whole period. Keep these metrics separate when making charts or comparing another analytics service.
Protect files and use the supported automation route
A downloaded report is a separate copy. Revoking a reading link does not erase files already downloaded by that reader. Store reports according to their intended audience and do not publish private export links, owner tokens or API keys in shared spreadsheets or repositories.
For regular automated reports, use the API and report documentation in the counter tools instead of relying on an expiring download bookmark. Check authentication, supported fields, limits and the reported period for that interface. A saved CSV or JSON file can preserve a comparison record, but it does not restore measurements into Stats4U.
Open the authorised counter tools
Connect the own counter with its private management link and open the reports and API tools from there.
