Choose a counter design that stays readable

A counter should fit the website, remain readable on a phone and leave the main content in control. In Stats4U, the design gallery provides a live preview and installation code. A useful decision starts with the space available in the actual page, rather than the largest preview in the gallery.

Start with the place where the counter will appear

Open the design gallery and choose a compact counter for a narrow footer or sidebar. A map or globe needs more room: check the corresponding gallery before choosing its size. Keep the statistics link available even when the visible counter is small.

1. Measure the width of the intended container in the browser, including its padding.
2. Choose a design that fits that width at its intended size. Check the digits and labels without enlarging the browser.
3. Compare the preview against the real background. A transparent counter can become difficult to read when the website switches theme.

Install the selected design

Copy the installation code generated by Stats4U and paste it into the website’s HTML template or the appropriate integration field. Keep the generated counter number. A new design is a presentation choice; creating a second counter would start a separate set of statistics.

Save the private management link shown during setup. It opens settings and can later connect the counter to My counters. The public statistics address is suitable for visitors; the management link must remain private.

Check the result on the website

1. Open a page with the counter at phone width and desktop width. Test both light and dark backgrounds if the website offers them.
2. Check that the counter neither covers a link nor creates horizontal scrolling. Read the labels as well as the total.
3. Open the public statistics link and confirm that it belongs to the intended counter. Keep the owner key out of public page content.

A static preview cannot prove that the final installation works. Browser blocking, template placement and an incorrect counter number can change the result. Use the installation guide for the website platform, and investigate missing measurements with the debugger before changing the design again.
