A marked campaign link distinguishes traffic from a newsletter, a social post or another distribution channel. Stats4U summarizes valid campaign labels with daily visitor counts and goals. Collection starts after the owner enables the feature; earlier unmarked visits cannot be reconstructed as campaign traffic.

Enable campaign measurement

  1. Connect the counter in My counters and open Dashboard and tools.
  2. Open Contact actions and find Measurement settings. Enable Campaigns and choose Save.
  3. For missing campaign data, first enable campaign measurement in the owner tools and use the UTM link generator. The final landing page must retain the campaign parameters. The JavaScript integration explicitly reports that address; image-only counting depends on the HTTP referrer or a manually supplied address, which may lack those parameters. The campaign guide explains the permitted labels and attribution limits.

Create a marked link

Open Campaigns. In the link generator, enter the landing page in Website address, an overall label in Campaign, the distribution source in Source and the channel in Medium. Choose Create campaign link and copy the generated address.

  1. For a sample open-day campaign, use https://example.org/open-day as the destination, open-day as campaign, newsletter as source and email as medium.
  2. Use short lowercase letters, digits, underscores or hyphens. Each label starts with a letter or digit and is limited to 48 characters.
  3. Use the same campaign label for the same initiative, then change source or medium to distinguish distribution channels.
https://example.org/open-day?utm_campaign=open-day&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email

The address is illustrative. Replace the destination with an actual landing page containing the counter. Do not put names, email addresses, customer references or other personal data in campaign labels. Unrecognized labels are ignored; new campaign combinations are limited to 100 per counter per day.

Read the report correctly

  1. Distribute the generated link instead of the unmarked page address.
  2. Open Campaigns and select a date range containing the distribution period.
  3. Compare rows with the same campaign but different sources or media. Check the landing page and configuration before interpreting an empty report.

The first valid marked campaign associated with a visitor that day supplies the daily attribution. Visitor totals across several days are sums of daily visitors, not a count of distinct people over the entire period. The same person can contribute on another day.

Goals reached adds daily goal achievements associated with the campaign. The same visitor can reach several different configured goals or return on another day. Repeating the same goal within one day does not add another achievement in this campaign report. Dividing goals by visitors therefore does not automatically produce a person-based conversion rate. Define and test the intended goal before comparing campaigns.
