The daily hash is built from IP, user agent, counter number, date and a secret salt that changes every day and is deleted after 2 days. After that, not even a known IP allows anyone to work out which hash belonged to whom. Because the counter number is part of it, the same visitor on two different sites cannot be recognised as the same person.
The counter sets no cookies and reads nothing from your device. On stats4u.net itself a session cookie is set only when you create or change a counter.
The home page serves Google AdSense advertising. A consent layer asks for your agreement first. The statistics pages and the blog carry no advertising.
The legal basis for counting is the site owner's legitimate interest in audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Whoever embeds the counter on their site is the controller for the data collected there; Stats4U processes it on their behalf.

Stats4U is a privacy-focused analytics tool. Our goal is to provide website owners with essential statistical data without compromising the privacy of their users.
2. Data Collection
When you visit a website using our counter, we automatically collect basic technical information: an anonymized IP address (used solely to determine country and city), browser type (User-Agent), screen resolution, traffic source (Referrer), and visited URLs.
3. Cookieless Approach
Unlike many other analytics systems, our end-user tracking scripts do not use cookies to track you across different websites. We respect your privacy and do not build advertising profiles.
4. Data Usage
The collected data is used exclusively to generate aggregated statistical reports for the website owner. We never sell or share raw data with third parties.
5. Data Retention
Raw visitor logs are automatically aggregated and anonymized. After the period necessary to generate statistics (typically 30 days), detailed logs are permanently deleted from our servers.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to request access to your data, its rectification, deletion, or restriction of processing. However, since data is mostly anonymized immediately, identifying a specific user may not be possible.
